CIF Committees

CIF's Trust Fund Committees and Sub Committees are a crucial part of its governance structure.
The SCF Trust Fund Committee also has three Sub Committees for each of its key funds.
The FIP Sub Committee meets regularly to oversee CIF's Forest Investment Program.
The PPCR Sub Committee oversees the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience.
The SREP Sub Committee oversees the Scaling Up Renewable Energy in Low Income Countries Program.
The Joint CTF-SCF Committee meets to consider decisions that impact cross-cutting CIF programs.
The CTF Sub-Committee oversees operations of the Clean Technology Fund.

The organizational structure of the CIF's two trust funds, the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and the Strategic Climate Fund (SCF), each include a Trust Fund Committee, and the SCF further designates Sub-Committees to govern each of its three targeted programs -- the Forest Investment Program (FIP), the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) and the Scaling up Renewable Energy in Low Income Countries Program (SREP). The Trust Fund Committees and Sub-Committees are composed of equal representation by contributor and recipient countries, which approve projects and provide strategic direction. Observers from the UN, civil society, indigenous peoples, and the private sector are also invited to participate in meetings of the Trust Fund Committees and Sub-Committees. Decisions are made by consensus of committee decision-making members.
